Baseball Topped by Northeastern on Senior Day

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. William & Mary baseball fell to Northeastern 15-5 in the regular season home finale on Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park.

The Tribe (20-31, 13-11 CAA) put itself in an early hole as it surrendered nine runs in the first two innings. W&M got on the board in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a two-run homer by catcher Jerry Barnes III.

Barnes went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the loss.

After Northeastern (41-9, 22-2) extended their lead with a five-spot in the fifth, right fielder Christian Rush went deep on senior day with a solo homer.

In the seventh, back-to-back RBI singles from second baseman Henry Jackson and DH Charlie Iriotakis trimmed the deficit to 15-5. However, the Tribe stranded a pair in scoring position as the Huskies secured the run-rule victory.

Shortstop Owen Wilson had a two-hit day, going 2-for-3 with a walk, while third baseman Jamie Laskofski was 2-for-4 with a run.

Huskies' starter Jordan Gottesman earned the win. LHP Tom Bourque was tagged with the loss for the Tribe.
