BOYDS, Md. – William & Mary men's tennis suffered a 5-0 setback against Georgetown at the Montgomery TennisPlex on Friday afternoon.

Gur Trakhtenberg pulled the Tribe even with a 7-6 (5) victory over Akira Morgenstern and Adhvyte Sharma on line two.
In the decisive match at No. 3, sophomore
Oliver Hague and junior
Albert Hansen battled deep into the tiebreaker with James OSullivan and Burke Pablo. The Georgetown (7-12) team pulled out a 9-7 win in the breaker to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
With only four courts available after the match moved indoors, the top four singles spots took the court first. W&M jumped out early winning the opening set in three of the four matches.
A victory from the Hoyas at No. 1 pushed the lead to 2-0, and Georgetown tallied second set wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 to force third sets. The Hoyas secured the team win with three-set wins at all three positions. Matches at No. 5 and No. 6 were abandoned with the team result decided.
At No. 4, Joseph won the opening set, 7-5, before Adhvyte Sharma rallied with a tiebreaker win in the second, 7-6 (8). Sharma then edged Joseph in a third-set super breaker, 10-8, to extend Georgetown's lead to 3-0.
Sophomore
Nikita Bortnichek claimed the opening set from Akira Morgenstern, 6-3, at No. 2. Morgenstern bounced back in 6-3, 6-2 victories in the second and third sets to clinch the Hoyas team win.
At No. 3, junior
Albert Hansen jumped in front of Sahil Morey with a 6-4 win in the opening set. Morey rallied with a 7-5 win in the second before narrowly pulling out the third-set super tiebreaker, 11-9.

The Tribe continues its road trip, heading to Philadelphia to take on CAA foe Drexel. The match is slated for Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Vidas Courts.
