WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The No. 11 William & Mary men's gymnastics team earned its second-best score this season but was edged by ninth-ranked Navy, 312.4-311.8, at Kaplan Arena on Saturday afternoon.
In addition to winning a pair of individual event titles, W&M recorded the top team scores in three events – floor, parallel bars and high bar – and matched a season-high total on high bar.
Highlighting the Tribe's individual performances were
Sam Lee and
Zachary Patrick, who won titles on vault and parallel bars, respectively. Lee registered a season-high 14.2 in the event, while Patrick garnered his second-best score of the year on parallel bars.
Luke Tully was the meet's top all-arounder and tallied a career-best 76.55, while he placed second on floor with a career-high 13.7 and high bar (13.25).
Evan Wilkins also posted multiple top-three efforts as he tied for second on parallel bars (13.3) and placed third on floor (13.65) and rings (13.4).
Ricky Pizem led the Tribe on pommel horse and equaled his season high (12.5).
