Baseball Drops Saturday Contest to Toledo 7-2

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Despite pounding out 10 hits, the William & Mary offense was unable to keep pace with Toledo as they fell at home 7-2 on Saturday afternoon in the Central Virginia Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Toledo (4-5) scored runs in each of the first three innings against starter W&M Reed Interdonato, all solo home runs.

RHP Nick Lottchea provided length out of the bullpen for the home team, entering in the fourth inning and going four innings with two earned runs.

The Tribe (4-6) finally got on the board in the sixth when CF Ben Parker hit a one-out triple down the right field line. LF Lucas Carmichael drove him in with a single to trim the lead to 3-1.

The Rockets responded in the top of the seventh with two runs, taking advantage of three free passes issued by Tribe pitching.

Parker trimmed into the deficit in the home half of the seventh with an RBI single, making it a 5-2 game. Toledo got one back in the top of the eighth, and W&M could do no further damage.

Brennan McCune was the winner for Toledo. Interdonato took the loss for the Tribe, striking out four in his start.
