WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis won its third in a row with a 6-1 victory over East Carolina on Saturday afternoon at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
The Tribe (6-1) captured the doubles point for the sixth time in its first seven matches with wins at the top two positions. Senior

In singles, W&M captured five of six positions, including the clinching victory from senior

Mira Kernagis (No. 6) each posted singles wins in the triumph.
How It Happened
- The senior tandem of Stange and
Hedda Gurholt gave W&M the early lead in doubles with a 6-3 win over Ines Bachir and Xenia Jeromin at No. 1. The Tribe pair won its third straight and improved to 5-2 at the top spot.
- After an ECU (2-5) win at No. 3, Davis and Anghel cemented the 1-0 lead and improved to 5-0 at No. 2 with a 6-4 win over Isabella Rivera Ortiz and Lilly Lancaster. The Tribe duo ran its mark to 7-1 on the year.
- ECU pulled even with a victory at the top singles position, before Chaudry put the Tribe on top for good with a straight-sets win at No. 3. She topped Rivera Ortiz, 6-2, 6-2, for her eighth win overall and third in a row.
- Anghel increased the Tribe lead to 3-1 with a straight-sets win at No. 2. She downed Bachir, 6-4, 6-3, for her third-straight victory. Anghel ran her mark to 13-7 overall and 5-2 on line two.
- Stange clinched the team triumph, knocking off Joan Madi, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4. It was her 10th win of the year as she improved to 4-2 at No. 4.
- Davis and Kernagis rounded the Tribe victory with wins at No. 5 and No. 6. Kernagis ran her season record to 12-5 with a straight-sets win over Jeromin, 7-6 (8), 6-3, on line six. Davis rallied from a set deficit to defeat Anne Lou Champion in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 5. She pushed her team-best singles mark to 16-4 overall and 6-1 in dual-match action.
