Raz Katz picked up a doubles win, but William & Mary men's tennis suffered a 4-0 setback at Yale on Friday night at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
How It Happened
- After a Yale win at No. 1 doubles, Bortnichek and Katz pulled the Tribe (3-2) even with a win on line two. The Tribe tandem won its second in a row, topping Renaud Lefevre and Krish Gupta, 6-1. The duo is 2-1 on the year at No. 2.
- The Bulldogs took a 1-0 with a victory at No. 3.
- Yale (6-3) won the opening set at all six singles positions and pulled out the team triumph behind straight-sets victories at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 4.
- At No. 5 and No. 6, Bortnichek and Katz bounced back from dropping the first set to take break advantages in the second set. After Aidan Reilly won a close opening set, 6-4, Katz jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the second on line six when the match was abandoned with the team result decided. At No. 5, Bortnichek took a 4-2 lead over Krish Gupta when the match was abandoned.

Gur Trakhtenberg led 4-3 in the second at No. 2 when the match was abandoned.
