WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis swept George Washington, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.

How It Happened
- An early break and hold for the senior pairing of
Hedda Gurholt and
Ine Stange set them up for a comfortable 6-1 win over Vaida Matuseviciute and Karen Verduzco at No. 1. The duo improved to 3-2 at the top spot.
- On a three-match win streak, the Tribe's No. 2 doubles team of Davis and Anghel clinched the initial point for the first time, downing Victoria Sasinka and Madison Lee, 6-4. The tandem improved to 5-1 overall.
- On court four, senior
Ine Stange turned in a dominant performance, winning 6-1, 6-2 over Verduzco. She evened her season mark at 9-9 with her third win at No. 4.
- Senior
Emma Fernald dropped only one game in beating GW's Alejandra Ramirez, who was 5-2 on the year, on court six, 6-1, 6-0. Fernald ran her season mark to 7-2 with her first dual-match victory.
- Gurholt clinched the Tribe's win with a straight sets victory, 6-3, 6-3, over Victoria Sasinka at the top spot. The Tribe senior improved to 4-1 in dual match action at No. 1 with her 10th win overall.
- Continuing the Tribe's impressive performances, Anghel topped Vaida Matuseviciute at the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 6-3, to move to 11-7 in singles action.
- On court five, Davis overcame her opponent Solange Skeene, 6-4, 6-4. The Tribe sophomore moved to 14-4 in singles.
- Capping off the Tribe's dominating day, junior
Sia Chaudry fought back in a third-set super tiebreaker to notch a win at No. 3 against Madison Lee, 6-4, 6-7 (8), 10-8. She won her sixth match of the season and upped her mark to 3-2 at No. 3.

W&M takes on UNCW on Sunday, Feb. 16, in its first CAA match of the season. The contest is set for 11 a.m. at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
