BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — William & Mary secured the program's first road game against the Mid-American Conference behind a 82-74 victory at Bowling Green at the Stroh Center on Wednesday night.
The Tribe put four guys in double figures and used a decisive 18-1 run in the first half to jump out to as much as a 17-point lead. W&M (3-2) held off a Falcon second-half rally by hitting 14-of-16 (87.5%) from the free throw line in the second half and turning 18 turnovers into 26 points off miscues.
Junior
Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi led the Tribe with 16 points, hitting 4-of-7 from 3-point range to go with five rebounds and a career-high five assists. Senior
Chase Lowe scored 14 points, converting all five of his field goal attempts. Senior
Kyle Pulliam had a nice all-around stat line with 13 points, making all eight of his free throw attempts, while collecting seven rebounds and four assists. Junior
Reese Miller added 10 points.
Bowling Green (3-2) took the early lead, 6-2, after a Javontae Campbell lay-up just over three minutes into the game. The Tribe responded with five straight, including a Vahlberg Fasasi 3-pointer at the 16:13, to move in front for the first time, 7-6.

Jhei-R Jones (6), and Lowe (4) combined for 16 of the Green and Gold's points during the run. The Tribe retook the lead at 14-13 following a pair of
Cade Haskins free throws. Vahlberg Fasasi sandwiched a pair of 3-pointers around back-to-back Lowe buckets in the paint to push the margin to double digits. Jones capped the spurt with consecutive 3-pointers. The first at the 8:13 mark forced a Falcon timeout, but he drilled a second less than a minute later to extend the margin to 30-14.
Bowling Green briefly pulled within 10, 30-20, with six-straight points, including two baskets from Josiah Shackelford. Miller answered with five straight for the Tribe, and sophomore
Ryan Jackson, Jr., stretched the advantage to 17 points, 41-24, with just 1:19 left on a lay-up. W&M connected on six 3-pointers in the half to take a 15-point advantage into the locker room.
The Tribe lead remained 15, 56-41, after a Lowe old-fashion 3-point play with 12:45 left. Bowling Green used an 12-2 run to draw within five. Back-to-back steals and lay-ups from Javon Ruffin and Justin Thomas narrowed the gap to seven. In total, Thomas scored six during the spurt and his free throws at the 10:28 mark to cut the deficit to 58-53.
Five different W&M players scored as part of a 15-4 run to stretch the lead back to 73-57 with 3:52 left. Pulliam tallied five during the run, including a 3-pointer, while Brockhoff added four.
Jo'el Emanuel's alley-oop dunk off an inbounds pass from Miller punctuated the run.
The Falcons made one last push with a 10-0 run. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Mayar Wol and Ruffin cut the Tribe lead to 75-69 with 56 seconds remaining. W&M put the game away by hitting 7-of-8 from the free throw line over the remainder of the contest.
W&M finished the game shooting 46.4% (26-of-56) from the field, including nine 3-pointers. The Tribe connected on 87.5% (21-of-24) at the free throw line and dished out 19 assists on its 26 made field goals. The Tribe capitalized on 11 steals and received a strong contribution from the bench, which added 33 points. Jackson, Jr. and Jones tallied eight points apiece off the bench, while Emanuel was 3-of-3 from the field and finished with seven points.
Campbell led BGSU with 17 points before fouling out. Shackelford and Ruffin tallied 11 points apiece. The Falcons shot 43.1% (25-of-58) from the floor, but hit just 3-of-19 (15.8%) from 3-point range.
The Tribe returns to action hosting Education Day on Friday, Nov. 21, when it welcomes Regent to Kaplan Arena. W&M will welcome more than 1,000 elementary school students, faculty, and chaperons from around Williamsburg, including Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, for the game.
