Men's Soccer Plays Host to UNCW on Saturday Night

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The William & Mary men's soccer team looks to use the momentum from its most recent win when it faces off with UNCW at Martin Family Stadium on Saturday night.
 
The second meeting of the year between the Tribe and Seahawks is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on FloCollege.

TRIBE NOTES
 
Last Time Out
The Tribe scored its first win of the season last time out to clear American 1-0, thanks to a late goal from Devin Cooper. Diogo Branco played Michael DiOrio down the right side, from there DiOrio found Cooper at the near post to finish the play with a header in the 82nd minute. Ryan Eapen made three saves on the evening to secure the clean sheet win in net.
 
Clean Sheets
Dating back to 2023, the Tribe's last seven wins have all been of the clean sheet variety. Eapen has been responsible for the last four of those clean sheet wins in net. Eapen currently leads the CAA in saves per game at 4.5.
 
Precision Shooting
W&M has been one of the best in the CAA in placing shots on target in the 2025 season. The Tribe ranks second in the conference, placing 48.3% of their total shots on frame this year. Only their opponent on Saturday, UNCW, has been more efficient at 48.9%.
 
Tribe Ties on Staff
Chris Norris heads into his 22nd year as the head coach of the Tribe in 2025 and 35th season involved with the William & Mary men's soccer as either a player or a coach. Norris made 81 starts in 84 games with W&M before graduating in 1995 and was a two-time All-CAA First Team Selection before immediately joining the staff as an assistant coach. He took the reins of the program in 2004 and has led the Tribe to four NCAA Tournaments and a 165-165-59 record.
 
Jeff Dominguez is back on staff as an assistant for the second time beginning this season. Dominguez, a 1999 grad, made the NCAA Tournament all four years during his playing career and won two CAA titles before going on to play professional soccer. He was an assistant under Norris in 2004-05.
 
History with the Seahawks
The Green and Gold will face off with UNCW for the second time this season, falling 5-0 in Wilmington on Sept. 13. Overall, W&M holds a 37-11-7 record against the Seahawks with six of the last nine matches in the series decided by one goal or less. The last meeting in Williamsburg came last season with the Tribe scoring a 4-0 win.
