Field Hockey Travels to Philadelphia for Two Matches

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary field hockey closes out the 2025 season with a two-match road trip to Philadelphia. The Tribe wraps up the CAA portion of the schedule at Drexel on Friday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m., before heading to Conshohocken, Pa., for a 12:30 p.m. match against La Salle at The Proving Grounds.

Tribe News and Notes
- Junior goalkeeper Alexandra de Jesus owns six double-digit save performances this season, including three against nationally-ranked competition. de Jesus posted a career-high 24 saves at Old Dominion on Aug. 31. It marked the fourth-most saves in a game in school history, was the most for a Tribe goalkeeper since 1994, and is the most for a goalkeeper nationally in 2025.
 
- de Jesus leads the CAA and ranks third nationally in saves per game (9.73). She is averaging 10.8 saves per game in CAA play, which also leads the league. de Jesus ranks fourth in the CAA and 37th nationally in save % (.734). She has been even better in league games at 79.5% which ranks second in the CAA.
 
- de Jesus is having a historic season in terms of saves. Her 146 saves this season rank eighth in school history and are the most for a Tribe goalkeeper since 1994. The save total is also the most in the CAA since 2021.
 
- Junior defender Mackinzie Brown tallied defensive saves in each of the Tribe's last two games against Hofstra and at Richmond. She ranks third in the CAA in defensive saves. Brown owns four defensive saves for her career.
 
- W&M has won seven of the last 10 contests with Drexel and leads the all-time series at 15-11. The Dragons hold a 6-5 advantage in Philadelphia. Last season, Drexel posted a 5-0 victory in Williamsburg.
 
- The Tribe and La Salle meet for the fourth time and first since the 2023 season. W&M leads the all-time series at 2-1, but the Explorers tallied a 3-2 win in Williamsburg in 2023.
 
- The Tribe scored a season-high four goals vs. Davidson on Oct. 5. Senior Emme Schwartz scored the first two goals of her Tribe career against the Wildcats, pulling W&M even at three and then again at four in the Green and Gold's three-goal third period.
 
- Junior Josie Mae Gruendel leads the Tribe with nine points and four goals on the season. She scored twice in the final 2:04 to lift the Tribe to win over defending Patriot League Champion Lafayette on Sept. 7. Gruendel ranks 14th in the CAA in goals scored (4) and 21st in total points (9).
