WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—William & Mary men's soccer aims to improve on its two-game winning streak, hosting Campbell in a pivotal CAA matchup on Saturday night at Martin Family Stadium. Following that match W&M will hit the road Tuesday to take on Penn.
Saturday's match is set to begin at 7 p.m. on FloCollege with Tuesday's at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Clear Bag Policy and Metal Detectors
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events) beginning in the fall of 2025. This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the
Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.
TRIBE NOTES
Last Time Out
The Tribe avenged an early season loss to UNCW by protecting home turf against the Seahawks last Saturday to the tune of a 2-0 win. W&M broke the scoreless tie more than an hour in with
Webb Kosich finding the rebound off a
Sam Delgado shot and scoring for his second goal of the season. The Green and Gold put the match away when the Seahawks pushed their keeper up into the attacking half, looking for an equalizer in the 88
th minute. This allowed for
Bryce Smith to start a counterattack, finding
Max Cooper who finished the play into the empty net from 40 yards out.
Ryan Eapen earned his second consecutive clean sheet with four saves.
Honors for Ryan
The Tribe's
Ryan Eapen earned his first ever CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for his back-to-back shutout wins last week. The junior goalie collected seven total saves in the two home wins over American and UNCW. He has now earned five clean sheet victories over his career. He currently leads the CAA in saves per game at 4.4.
Locking Things Down
The Tribe posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time this season and the first time since September 2022. That stretch spanned four consecutive games. W&M's last eight wins are of the clean sheet variety dating back to 2023.
Precision Shooting
W&M has been the best in the CAA in placing shots on target in the 2025 season. The Tribe ranks first in the conference, placing 51.5% of their total shots on frame this year.
Scouting Campbell
The Tribe will once again be looking to avenge another loss to a CAA foe against Campbell. The Camels took a 2-1 decision back on Aug. 29 in Buies Creek in the CAA opener and are currently tied for the division lead of the CAA South at 2-0-2 with Elon. Campbell has won three straight over W&M after the Tribe won the first five meetings in the series history.
Scouting Penn
Entering the weekend Penn sits at 5-2-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the Ivy League. This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the two sides, with the Quakers holding a 2-1-0 advantage. The teams played last year in Williamsburg with Penn winning 2-0.
