Clear Bag Policy and Metal Detectors at Zable Stadium in 2025
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events) beginning in the fall of 2025. This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the
Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.
W&M enters Saturday's game with a 2-3 record overall and a 1-1 mark in conference play after falling at then-No. 20/22 Villanova, 31-24, in its last outing. W&M is among the nation's least penalized teams, as it currently ranks sixth in fewest penalties per game (3.6) and seventh in fewest penalty yards per game (32.4). Additionally, the Tribe has committed just one turnover, which ranks tied for first nationally. Quarterback
Tyler Hughes leads W&M's offense and ranks second in the CAA in passing efficiency (147.0), while he also ranks second in the league and 13th nationally in touchdown passes (9). Defensively, the Tribe has forced at least one turnover in 14 of the last 15 games dating back to last season. Linebacker
Luke Banbury leads the CAA and ranks fourth nationally in tackles per game (11.6).
NC A&T owns a 1-4 overall record and a 1-1 mark in CAA play, as its league win came against Hampton (33-30). Quarterback Kevin White is averaging 255.5 passing yards per game, while Wesley Graves leads the Aggies in rushing with 248 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Tim Alderman has totaled 24 tackles with 4.5 sacks and 7.5 TFL. NC A&T is allowing 44.2 points per game and 471.2 yards per contest.
Saturday's game will mark just the second meeting between W&M and NC A&T, as the Tribe earned a 45-7 victory on the road last season.
