Annapolis, Md. – Bolstered by a number of impressive performances, the William & Mary men's gymnastics team won the Navy Open on Saturday afternoon.

W&M claimed the team title with a 306.15 and was followed by Springfield (305.3) and Navy (303.15). The outstanding effort marked the first time an ECAC team defeated Navy since W&M topped the Mids at the 2018 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championship.

In addition to posting the overall top score, the Tribe also recorded the meet's best scores in four events – rings (50.3), vault (54.85), parallel bars (51.3) and high bar (50.9).

A quartet of Tribe standouts highlighted W&M's individual performances by winning event titles – sophomore Gavin Zborowski (rings, 13.05 – career high), freshman Connor Barrow (vault, 14.0 – career high), sophomore Evan Wilkins (parallel bars, 13.4 – career high) and junior Ricky Pizem (high bar, 13.5 – equaled career high).

Wilkins also tied for second on floor (13.55), while Luke Tully placed second in all-around (74.45) and tied for third on vault (13.9).

W&M's team score of 306.15 marked nearly a six-point improvement from its season-opening performance at the West Point Open last week.

The Tribe will return to action when it competes in a dual meet at Penn State next Saturday.
