TRIBE NOTES

Last Time Out
The Tribe fell at the hands of No. 15 Penn last Friday at Martin Family Stadium 2-0. The Quakers scored off a penalty kick in the 29th minute, taking a 1-0 lead to halftime. They went on to add a goal in the 70th minute to leave Williamsburg with a two-goal victory. Penn led the final shot tally 9-8 in a very physical match that saw a combined 24 fouls and five yellow cards.

Not Afraid of a Challenge
The Tribe's 2024 schedule, as it does many years, offers Chris Norris' squad the chance to go toe-to-toe with some of the best programs in the nation. W&M's schedule currently features four nationally ranked opponents. The Tribe opened up CAA play with No. 24 Hofstra before the meeting with No. 15 Penn. 14th ranked Elon still lies ahead in conference play, while W&M will host No. 6 North Carolina on Oct. 15.

On the Road Again
The trip to Brookline, Mass. will be the Tribe's first time leaving the state of Virginia in the month of September.  The game with the Huskies is also the first road conference match of the season for W&M, as they look for their first win in a CAA road opener since 2011.

Scouting the Huskies
Northeastern enters Saturday's game with a record of 1-3-3 with and 0-2-0 record in CAA play. The Huskies are coming off a tie against Harvard on Tuesday. Their two losses in conference play are both 1-0 decisions to Campbell and Drexel. After the match with the Tribe, Northeastern will play four straight on the road.

History with the Huskies
Longtime CAA foes, this will be the 21st all-time meeting between Northeastern and the Tribe. W&M leads the series 10-5-5, but it has been more evenly matched in Brookline where it sits 3-3-2. The Tribe took last year's contest 1-0 off a 64th minute goal from Lucas Caldas. The last W&M win on the road in the series was in 2017.
