Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Six Players Score as Women's Soccer Grounds Owls, 6-0

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.— The William & Mary women's soccer team cruised to their third consecutive win behind six goals from six players, taking care of Temple 6-0 on Sunday at Martin Family Stadium.

The Tribe wasted no time grabbing the lead, with Ivey Crain converting from the top of the 18-yard box off a feed from Molly Widderich just over a minute into the contest.

Leah Iglesias continued the Green and Gold's hot start, capitalizing on a Temple (0-5-0) giveaway in the box and beating the keeper to double the Tribe lead to 2-0 just seven minutes into the contest.

The goals for both Crain and Iglesias were their second of the season, while the assist for Widderich was her first of the campaign.

The Tribe kept applying the pressure, taking the first 10 shots of the contest, with the Owls not taking a shot until the 25th minute.

W&M (3-2-0) extended their lead to three when Abby Mills broke down to the left side to meet a pass from Ava Lewis and beat the Owl goalie for her first career tally in the 37th minute. The assist was the first career point for Lewis as well.

The Tribe headed to the halftime break maintaining their 3-0 lead. Their dominance through the first 45 minutes showed in the shot total where they held a 15-1 advantage.

The second half was more of the same, with W&M expanding their lead to four in the 47th minute.

Kenley Campbell rocketed a shot from 20 yards out that zoomed past the goalie and into the top part of the net for her first career goal in just her fifth college game.

Mills day wasn't over offensively for the Tribe, collecting her first career assist to go with the earlier goal.

The senior played a ball back to Mia Suchora in the 70th minute who cashed in from 17 yards out for the Tribe's fifth goal of the afternoon.

Ava Marvin put the exclamation point on the match a little over eight minutes later, taking a pass from Alyssa Kenealy and turning the chance into her first goal of the season.

The assist was the first point of Kenelay's college career, making her the fourth W&M player to record their first assist or goal on Sunday, as the Tribe cruised to a 6-0 win.

W&M outshot Temple by a whopping 27-2 total on the afternoon.

The six goals are the most W&M has scored in a non-conference match under Julie Shackford, and the most as a program in non-league action since a 6-0 win against Akron in 2008.
