TRIBE NOTES

A Look Back
The Tribe looks to rebound from a 2-8-6, 1-4-3 CAA season in 2023 and seemed poised to do so, returning 19 players, including their top two scorers (Lucas Caldas and Aidan Morrison), from a year ago. The Tribe's 2023 season was highlighted by hard-fought results against ACC opponents Virginia Tech and No. 11 North Carolina, drawing both on the road. Caldas was named Second Team All-CAA while Morrison was on the CAA All-Rookie Team at season's end. Alfredo Bozalongo, who the Tribe lost to graduation, was named Third Team All-CAA.

Déjà Vu
Binghamton and W&M will meet in the Tribe's season opener for the second consecutive year after doing battle in Williamsburg in 2023. W&M took a 2-1 decision in last year's meeting thanks to a 39th minute goal from Augie Cooper and a 75th minute penalty kick from Alfredo Bozalongo. The match was the first ever between the two programs, with Wednesday's meeting serving as the second. W&M and the UNH will also be meeting for the second consecutive season, with the Wildcats, who were ranked No. 19 at the time, taking a 4-2 win last year in Virginia. Saturday's game will be the second ever meeting between the two.

Opening Up
The Tribe will look to continue an unbeaten streak of three in season openers, going 2-0-1 in their last three lid lifters. W&M's offense historically hasn't needed to knock much rust off, scoring at least two goals in those last three openers.

Northern Swing
Chris Norris' squad will begin their 2024 season with a northern swing featuring the matchups with the Bearcats and Wildcats. W&M will then return home to play Longwood on Sept. 4. The last time the Tribe began their season in the northeastern part of the country was 1986 at UConn. This will be the first time ever that W&M will begin a campaign playing back-to-back games north of Virginia.

Preseason Prognostications
Lucas Caldas earned a spot on the Preseason All-CAA team, while Aidan Morrison earned an honorable mention after voting by the conference's 11 head coaches. W&M was picked 10th in the preseason poll.
