A key component of the Tribe's offensive attack this season will be its talented group of wide receivers. Led by
Mike London Jr., the veteran unit returns three of its best players in seniors
DreSean Kendrick,
JT Mayo and
Hollis Mathis. Additionally, the group will be bolstered with two talented transfers –
Damian Harris (Bucknell) and
Isaiah Lemmond (VMI) – which should make it one of the most dynamic and deep units in the CAA.
DreSean Kendrick • Senior • 5-9, 190
• Returns as one of W&M's top wideouts after missing the final seven games last season due to injury
• All-CAA caliber player
• Dynamic receiver who can make plays after the catch
• Elite ability to make tacklers miss in space
• Outstanding leader
• Career stats include 46 receptions for 563 yards and three touchdowns; also rushed for 184 yards and thrown a touchdown pass
JT Mayo • Senior • 5-11, 185
• Enters his fourth season as a starter
• Versatile wideout who can play slot and outside
• Tough, physical, fast player who is very explosive
• Good downfield blocker
• Good vision and excellent ball skills
• Consistent performer who is a true leader
• Totaled 30 catches for 452 yards and five touchdowns last season
Hollis Mathis • Senior • 6-2, 175
• Team captain (highest vote getter) and an exceptional, selfless leader who enters his sixth season at W&M
• Multi-position standout who works with the quarterbacks and wide receivers
• One of the nation's most dynamic and explosive playmakers who possesses the ability to provide game-changing plays through the air as a quarterback and receiver or on the ground as a runner
• Needs just 8 rushing yards and 597 receiving yards to become the second player in the history of college football to total 1,000 career yards passing, receiving and rushing
• Totaled 27 catches for 373 yards and two touchdowns last season
• Extremely smart competitor who is detailed oriented in all areas of the offense
Damian Harris • Senior • 6-0, 190
• Transfer who was a three-year starter at Bucknell and totaled 104 receptions for 1,151 yards and five touchdowns
• Set Bucknell's single-game record for receptions (15) against Marist
• Led the Bison in receptions (55) and receiving yards (606) in 2023; ranked fifth in the Patriot League in receptions per game (5.0)
• Expected to be a key contributor this season
• Possesses elite ball skills and can make catches anywhere on the field
• Ability to create separation with his outstanding speed
Leonte Oulahi • Redshirt Freshman • 5-11, 195
• Redshirted last season after appearing in four games; earned first career start at UAlbany and recorded two catches for 48 yards
• 2023 W&M Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year
• Expected to make a significant impact this season
• Good route runner with great ball skills
• Deep ball threat
• Improved his ability to create separation during the offseason and has continued to develop his physical skills
Carson Jenkins • Redshirt Freshman • 5-10, 175
• Saw action in 10 games last season and earned four starts
• Can stretch the field with his elite speed and is the fastest receiver on the team
• Ability to impact the game with plays through the air or on the ground
• Improved his route running during the offseason
Isaiah Lemmond • Junior • 6-0, 200
• Transfer from VMI who totaled 59 catches for 738 yards with a touchdown in two seasons with the Keydets
• Selected to the So-Con All-Freshman team in 2022 after ranking second on the squad in receiving yards (453) and yards per catch (15.6)
• Versatile wideout who can lineup in the slot or backfield
• Joined the team in January and quickly picked up the offense during the spring
Josh Guilford • Senior • 6-4, 215
• Former transfer from Florida International who enters his fourth season at W&M
• Saw action in eight games and earned five starts last season
• Experienced player and a solid performer
• Great speed
• Good size and catch radius
Ranked as high as No. 15 nationally in the preseason polls, W&M enters the 2024 campaign having posted three consecutive winning seasons. Additionally, the Tribe earned a top-25 ranking during each of the last three years.
