WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary baseball (24-11, 7-4 CAA) evened the weekend series with North Carolina A&T (19-15, 4-7 CAA), powering to a 7-4 victory over the Aggies behind a first-inning grand slam off the bat of
Henry Jackson.
Josiah Seguin also tallied a home run for the Tribe, belting a solo shot for the farthest-hit homer the team has seen this year. The freshman topped his own 450-foot best with a towering 463-foot shot.
Zack Potts earned his fifth win of the season, tying
Nate Knowles and
Mark Hindy for the team lead. Tossing five scoreless frames in a season-long 6.1 innings of work, the grad student allowed four hits and four runs, only one of which was earned, while striking out three.
Carter Lovasz earned his third save of the year in the Tribe's victory, also marking the 15
th of his career. He moved into sole possession of second place in career saves in program history – the only W&M pitcher to amass more is Joseph Gaouette with 18. The righty finished the game with 2.2 innings, the final two of which were perfect.
The Tribe wasted no time in answering the Aggies' game one victory, jumping out to a 4-0 lead through one inning.
Lucas Carmichael once again started the Tribe off with a leadoff base knock, which
Christian Rush and
Joe Delossantos followed with a pair of walks.
Coming to the plate with bases loaded,

Potts sat the Aggies down 1-2-3 in the second frame, and the Tribe scored two more before the visitors were able to answer.
In the third inning,
Jerry Barnes III dropped a single into center field and a pair of back-to-back walks drawn by Jackson and
Nate Goranson once again loaded the bases early for the host team.
Taking the small-ball approach this time,
Luca Trigiani sent his team-leading fifth sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Barnes and advancing Jackson to third. Freshman
Kevin Francella laced a single to left field to drive Jackson in and give the Tribe a 6-0 advantage.
The Aggies broke the shutout in the fourth, scoring a single run and cutting the Tribe's lead to five.
Holding the score once again, Potts held the Aggies to a single run and just a pair of hits through the first six innings.
Josiah Seguin was 0-2 in the count in the sixth inning before he ripped the next pitch to right-center field for the longest home run that W&M has seen all year. Seguin's solo shot was the Tribe's final run of the game, as the Green & Gold went up 7-1.
