Off to a 4-1 start and winners of its last three contests, the Tribe opened its CAA slate with a lopsided 49-7 victory against Hampton at Zable Stadium last Saturday. With the victory, W&M moved up to No. 10 in this week's AFCA Coaches Poll, marking the third consecutive season that the Tribe has earned a spot in the nation's top 10. Led by CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week quarterback Darius Wilson, the Tribe piled up 632 total yards and 434 rushing yards in the win versus Hampton. W&M now ranks ninth nationally in total offense (461.4), 15th in scoring (34.6), fourth in rushing (281.6) and sixth in first downs (119). Defensively, the Tribe ranks 17th nationally in scoring defense (19.8) and has allowed just two offensive touchdowns during the second half of games this season.

Despite owning a 1-3 record, all three of Towson's setbacks have come against quality opponents – Cincinnati, No. 5/4 Villanova and No. 2 North Dakota State. The Tigers' lone victory was against Morgan State. Quarterback Carlos Davis has completed 56 of 89 passes for 589 yards with three touchdowns, while running back Devin Matthews is averaging 87.5 rushing yards per game. Defensively, Kam Snell has totaled a team-high 28 tackles, while Nchabanu Fortaboh and Evan Rutkowski have totaled 2.5 and 2.0 sacks, respectively.

Saturday's game will mark the 20th meeting between W&M and Towson, as the Tribe won the initial seven meetings but has lost six of the last 10 matchups. The Tigers won last season's matchup, 34-24, but W&M owns a 5-3 advantage in games played at Towson.
