With the victory W&M (6-0-5, 3-0-2) remains unbeaten through their first 11 matches of the season.
The Tribe attacked out of the gate, but only had near misses to show for it. The first of their chances came in the 16
th minute from
Kayleigh Shackford, who rifled a shot from just outside the box that narrowly went over the cross bar.
Elon (1-5-3, 0-3-1) recorded their first shot of the game moments later, but the chance led to an easy save for Tribe keeper
Zoe Doughty.
The Green and Gold kept applying pressure and recorded back-to-back shots on goal in the 26
th minute by Elania Longjohn and
Mia Suchora. Both attempts were saved by the Elon keeper, and the game remained 0-0 heading into halftime.

When the second half opened, Suchora had another chance to break the scoreless tie, finding the ball at her feet after an Elon giveaway just outside of the box, but her shot missed high.
