2023 Season Preview - Inside Linebackers

Helping anchor the defense this year will be co-defensive coordinator Bo Revell's inside linebacking unit. Led by a pair of seniors in captain Kevin Jarrell and all-conference standout Isaiah Jones, this year's group boasts tremendous talent and depth with a number of players who will vie for significant roles. Regardless of who emerges as key contributors, the unit will once again undoubtedly provide the defense with outstanding production and leadership.

 Kevin Jarrell • Senior • 6-1 • 245
  • Captain
  • Earned 24 career starts
  • Moving inside after playing outside last season
  • Physical, intelligent player who has consistently progressed during his career
  • Expected to challenge for all-conference honors this season
  • Came to W&M as a quarterback before moving to linebacker
 
Isaiah Jones • Senior • 6-1 • 230
  • All-CAA standout who has earned 27 career starts
  • Outstanding leader who will be the starting MIKE
  • Has a mastery of the defense – outstanding at recognizing offenses and making the correct adjustments
  • Possesses tremendous ability and maximizes it by playing with a physical style
  • Extremely productive player who has become more confident every year
 
Brayden Staib • Senior • 6-3 • 220
  • Significant contributor who has appeared in 27 games during his career
  • Totaled 49 tackles last season
  • Gained strength during the offseason and is a strong tackler
  • Smart player with great instincts
  • Expected to be a big contributor once again this season
  • Outstanding performer on special teams
 
Quinn Osborne • Junior • 6-2 • 225
  • Tremendous player who has appeared in 26 games during his career
  • The group's most physically talented player
  • Done a great job developing and is expected to earn an increased role this season
  • Added significant strength during the offseason
  • Blends outstanding size, speed and instincts
 
Desmond Cook • Redshirt Freshman • 6-0 • 245
  • 2022 Scout Team Co-Defensive Player of the Year
  • Redshirted last season after appearing in three games on special teams
  • Physical linebacker who is strong and plays with a high motor
