Tribe Hits The 30 Win Mark With Decisive 6-1 Victory

TOWSON, MD- For the second straight day, William & Mary pitching was dominant, this time in a 6-1 win over Towson. The victory was number 30 on the year for the Tribe (30-18) and clinched the team's seventh winning series in its last eight tries and moved the team to 12 games over .500.

Casey Green picked up the win allowing zero runs and just two hits over the opening 3.0 innings of the game. Cory Wall earned his third save, tossing the final 4.1 innings of work with three punchouts and just one run allowed.

Joe Delossantos was 2-2 with a run scored and a run driven in, while Tank Yaghoubi also had a pair of knocks, scored, and drove a man in. Corey Adams also knocked in a run with a single in the game.

The Tribe got going in the third as Yaghoubi and Lucas Carmichael would score on a Towson error. Moments later a double steal by Cole Ragone and Adams would plate the senior to make it 3-0 William & Mary.

Nick Lottchea stranded the bases full of Tigers in the fourth and Wall closed out the fifth before William & Mary got back on offense in the sixth. Ragone singled to lead off the frame and scored on a knock from Delossantos. Joe would later score on a two-out knock from Yaghoubi.

Towson finally ended the Tribe pitching staff's 19 inning scoreless streak by plating a run in the eighth to get the Tigers on the board. In the Tribe's half of the ninth, Luke Smith pinch ran for Carmichael and scored on an RBI single from Adams to make it a 6-1 game.
