WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - Northeastern downed William & Mary 8-1 Friday night at Plumeri Park. The Tribe was led offensively by
Tank Yaghoubi who was 2-4 with a run scored. The freshman also had an outfield assist in the game.
Corey Adams also produced a 2-4 night.
Nate Knowles struck out three over 4.0 innings in the losing effort.
Zach Tsakounis allowed two runs and just two hits over 4.0 innings of relief.
Brian Craven struck out a pair, pitching a scoreless ninth.
Northeastern got to the Tribe early with a pair of doubles to score a run in the first and tacked on four in the second, highlighted by a Mike Sirota's two-run shot to left, making it a 5-0 game. William & Mary got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the frame scoring one on singles from Yaghoubi, Jerry Barnes, and
Corey Adams.
The Huskies added to their lead in the fifth as Alex Lane hit a three-run homer over the wall in left center. William & Mary looked to answer, getting a pair of men on base in the fifth but could not push a run across. The Tribe threatened again, loading the bases in the eighth but Northeastern retired the side without any damage being done.
