SOUTHPORT, N.C.  – William & Mary closed out play at the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association Championships on Sunday at The Reserve Club at St. James.
 
Freshman Grace Lu once again paced the Tribe as W&M finished sixth in the team standings with 946 (+82). The Green and Gold fired a final round 317 (+29). Charleston won the CAA Championship for the second-straight year behind an 880 (+16).
 
Lu shot a team-best 5-over 77 on the final day of action to ended her first championship event in a share of 15th place with a 228 (+12). She fired the best round for a Tribe player and second best for any player at the championships on Saturday with a 4-under 68. Lu finished the tournament ranked second in the field in par-5 scoring (-3) and fourth in par-3 scoring (+1). She also led the Tribe with seven birdies over the three rounds.
 
Fellow freshmen Avery Thompson and Simone Senk joined their classmate in leading the Tribe on Sunday with rounds of 79 (+7). Thompson finished in 27th place at 237 (+21), while Senk was 34th at 250 (+34). Thompson also ranked fifth in the tournament field with 35 pars over her 54 holes.
 
Graduate student Sarah Houle wrapped up her Tribe career on Sunday, shooting an 82 (+10). She finished the event in a share of 29th at 240 (+24). Houle finished her career as W&M's all-time leader in stroke average at 75.87. She also ranks in the top 10 in school history in career rounds of par or better (2nd), winning % (3rd), top 10s (4th), top 5s (5th), rounds played (8th), and wins (9th).
 
Senior Mikah McDonnell finished in 33rd with a 245 (+29). She birdied three holes on the back nine to play her final nine of the championship at 2-over 38. McDonnell wrapped up the year ranked 12th in school history with a career stroke average of 79.16.
