SOUTHPORT, N.C. – William & Mary women's golf sits in seventh place after the opening round of the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
The Tribe shot an opening round 331 (+43) and are a stroke clear of both N.C. A&T and Hofstra. Charleston leads the tournament after the opening round behind a 295 (+7), just one shot ahead of UNCW (296).
Graduate student
Sarah Houle led the Tribe with an 82 (+10) on the opening day. She fired a 2-over 38 on her second 18, including a birdie on the par-4 18th hole.

Avery Thompson – carded 83's (+11) to open the championship. McDonnell shot a team-best 2-over 38 on the opening 18 holes. Lu led W&M with a pair of birdies on the day and Thompson topped the Tribe with 11 pars over her 18 holes.
The second round of the CAA Championships will tee off from The Reserve Club at St. James beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
