CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Facing a roster loaded with six ranked players and a trio of nationally-ranked doubles teams, William & Mary suffered its first setback of the 2023 spring season, falling at No. 7-ranked Virginia on Sunday afternoon.
How it Happened
- In doubles, the Cavaliers (5-0) dropped just one game in winning the first two positions to claim the initial point of the match.

Ine Stange led 3-2 at the No. 3 post over Virginia's Sara Ziodato and Meggie Navarro before the match was abandoned with the doubles points decided.
- In singles, UVA won all six matches in straight-sets with four of its six nationally-ranked players in the lineup.

The Tribe returns to action with a pair home matches next weekend. W&M hosts its first CAA match against Towson on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m., before hosting Morgan State on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m.
