Alexander Karman picked up singles wins on Saturday afternoon, but visiting Liberty squeaked out a narrow 4-3 victory over the Tribe at the McCormack-Naglesen Tennis Center.
 
The Flames (3-3) won a close doubles point and then was able to tally a trio of singles wins, including a three-setter at the top spot.
 
How It Happened
- Liberty picked up the initial point of the match, claiming the doubles point. Graduate student 
Bill Duo and senior 
George Davis led 5-4 at the top spot, but the Flames No. 2 team of Deji Thomas-Smith and Luis Felipe Miguel secured the point with a narrow 6-4 win on line two.
- The visitor increased its lead to 2-0 with a win at No. 3 singles. Davis and Liberty's Josh Wilson locked horns in a three-set tilt at the top spot. After the Tribe senior won the opening set, 6-3, the two-time All-ASUN first teamer rallied with 6-3, 6-2 victories in the final two sets to push the margin to 3-0.
- Felipe Manuel clinched the LU team victory with a tiebreaker win in the second set at No. 5.
- Karman picked up the Tribe's first triumph in come-from-behind fashion on line six. After dropping the first set, 6-4, the Green and Gold sophomore won the second, 7-5, and then outlasted Thando Longwe-Smit, 10-5, in the breaker. It was Karman's first dual-match victory with the Tribe and his seventh overall on the year.
- Brailovsky won in straight-sets at the No. 2 spot. He downed another All-ASUN first teamer in Deji Thomas-Smith by a 7-5, 7-6 (5) scoreline. Brailovsky extended his team-leading singles record to 12-6, while also improving to 2-1 on line two.
- Joseph rounded out the Tribe singles victories with a three-set triumph at No. 4. After splitting the opening two sets, the Tribe sophomore battled Liberty's Christiaan Worst into a third-set tiebreaker. He took control in the breaker with a dominating 7-1 performance. It marked Joseph's third win of the year as he upped his mark to 2-1 at No. 4.
