Men's Tennis Rolls in CAA Opening Win over Hampton

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's tennis rolled to a 6-1 win over Hampton in the CAA opener on Fright night at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis.

The Tribe (2-2, 1-0 CAA) swept doubles before receiving singles wins from graduate students Joseph Brailovsky, Andres Silva and Bill Duo along with sophomore Alexander Karman.

How it Happened
- W&M started the match with an advantage as Hampton (0-2, 0-1 CAA) failed to fill a complete lineup giving the Tribe forfeit wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
- In doubles, the Tribe's top team of Duo and senior George Davis made quick work of Erden Er and Daniel Flynn, 6-1, to clinch the initial point of the match. The duo improved to 6-3 on the year. Brailovsky and Silva made it a clean sweep with a 6-3 win at No. 2 over Donte Armbrister and Ange-Kevin Kousa. It was the Tribe tandem's fifth victory of the season.
- Leading 2-0, Brailovsky was dominant at No. 1, dropping just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Flynn. It was Brailovsky's third-straight win as he improved his team-best singles mark to 13-6.
- Making his first dual-match singles appearance of the season after being sidelined due to injury, Silva secured the Tribe team victory with a win at No. 2. He topped Armbrister, 6-1, 6-2, for his fourth victory of the year.
- Karman won his second-straight match, picking up a straight-sets win at No. 4. He downed Emiliano Jorquera, 6-4, 6-2, for his eighth win of the season.
- Duo rounded out the Tribe singles wins in a three-set victory at No. 3. He took the opening set, 6-3, before Hampton's Kousa won the second by a matching scoreline. Duo recorded his fourth win of the year behind a 10-6 super tiebreaker victory.
