Tribe Dominates in Victory over Norfolk State

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's tennis rolled to a 7-0 win over in-state foe Norfolk State on Friday night at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.

How it Happened
- The Tribe started with an advantage behind forfeit victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles as Norfolk State (1-2) did not field a complete lineup.
- Using new combinations at the top two doubles positions, W&M (3-3) dropped just three total games in claiming the initial point of the match. The graduate student duo of Bill Duo and Andres Silva dropped just one game in a 6-1 triumph over Hugo Massoni Lena and Ibrahim Abbas at No. 2. Senior George Davis and graduate student Joseph Brailovsky upended Boris Lunin and Federico Rebecchini, 6-2, at the No. 1 post.
- Leading 2-0, freshman Albert Hansen and sophomore Alexander Karman both won without dropping a game to clinch the Tribe victory. Hansen dominated Roosevelt Brown II at No. 5 for his first career dual-match victory and seventh overall. Karman provided the clincher, topping Abbas at No. 4 for his ninth win.
- Davis won his second match of the season at the top position, bouncing Rebecchini, 6-1, 6-4.
- Sophomore Sean Joseph dropped three games in a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Lunin at No. 3. He improved to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in dual-match play.
