WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary lacrosse team fell to No. 21 Richmond, 20-4, at Martin Family Stadium on Wednesday evening.
UR (2-0) scored the game's first 12 goals and owned a 13-1 advantage at halftime.
Although W&M (0-2) outscored the Spiders in the third quarter, UR regained control down the stretch to secure the non-conference victory.
Tribe Standouts
Sarah Cipolla,
Serena Jacobs,
Delaney Roth and
Maresa Moyer all scored for the Tribe.
Caroline Hertzberg totaled team highs in draw controls (3), ground balls (3) and caused turnovers (2).
Inside the Numbers
Richmond outshot W&M, 35-10, including a 28-7 margin in shots on goal.
UR also owned advantages in draw controls (20-7) and ground balls (23-12), while it committed three fewer turnovers (13-16).
The Opposition
Arden Tierney led the Spiders with seven points (3g, 4a), while Ali Susskind also posted a hat trick with three goals. Tierney added a game-high nine draw controls.
Defensively, Maggie O'Brien registered three caused turnovers and five ground balls.
