TRIBE NOTES
Last Time Out
The Tribe dropped their previous outing a week ago when they traveled to Campbell on Saturday. The Camels jumped out to a 2-0 lead and held on the rest of the way.
Daniel Salom was able to pull the Tribe within one in the 77
th minute with this second goal of the season, but the final score was 2-1.
Going Out on a High Note
W&M (2-8-5, 1-4-2 CAA) is looking to end the season with their third home win in 2023. The Tribe opened the year with a win against Binghamton on Aug. 24 and won their CAA home-opener on against Northeastern on Sept. 16.
Hanging Tough
All but one of the Tribe's games this year have been decided by one goal or less. The only game decided by more than a goal was an earlier loss to nationally-ranked New Hampshire. The Tribe have boasted a couple impressive road draws this season. They've tied ACC members Virginia Tech and No. 11 North Carolina in recent weeks away from home.
Series History
The Tribe and Seawolves will be meeting for the fourth time ever and the second time since Stony Brook joined the CAA last year. The Green and Gold lead the all-time series 2-1 and won last year's game on Long Island by a score of 2-0. The first ever meeting took place in Williamsburg in 2006.
Scouting the Seawolves
Stony Brook (6-5-4, 4-1-2 CAA) enters Friday's match in a battle for the regular title in the CAA, currently in a tie for first with Hofstra and Monmouth. The top two teams in the regular season standings will host the quarterfinals and semifinals of the CAA Tournament, giving the Seawolves plenty to play for. SBU is coming off back-to-back losses against Lafayette and Monmouth, with their last CAA win being over Charleston on Oct. 7.
