Tribe News and Notes
- A victory over Monmouth on Friday would clinch a spot in the CAA Tournament for the Tribe. W&M did not qualify for the CAA Tournament last season, finishing in a three-way tie for third but missing out due to tiebreakers. The Tribe previously had qualified for six-straight CAA Tourneys and won the league in 2018.
- W&M leads the all-time series with Monmouth at 5-0. In the first meeting as conference opponents, the Tribe edged Monmouth, 2-1, in a shootout last season in West Long Branch, N.J. The last time the teams met in Williamsburg, the Tribe posted a 3-2 OT win in 2018.
- The Tribe plays LaSalle for the first time since 2017. W&M holds a 2-0 lead in the all-time series, including a 8-0 win in the last meeting in Williamsburg. It marks the second of three-straight weekends W&M will play an A-10 opponent after a 1-0 OT win at VCU on Sunday. The Tribe travels to Richmond on Sunday, Oct. 29, as well.
- Over the last eight games, graduate student
Audrey Domovich has 13 points on six goals and an assist. She leads the Tribe and ranks ninth in the CAA in both points and goals. She also owns two game-winning goals, including the OT winner at VCU, during that stretch and produced two games with two goals in victories over Northeastern and Georgetown. In league play, Domovich is fourth in the league in goals (3) and seventh in points (7).
- Junior
Pyper Friedman and graduate student
Lauren Curran are second on the team with 11 points on four goals and three assists this season. They are ranked 12th in the CAA in goals and 13th in points.
- Curran, who was an All-CAA First Team selection last season, has 24 career goals, which ranks 17th in program history. Her next goal will move her into the top 15. Curran's goals per game mark of 0.47 is 12th in school history, while her 1.02 points per game is 14th. She is just one point away from moving into the top 25 in program history in points.
- Graduate student
Lonica McKinney and senior
Maddie McGaughey lead the Tribe and ranks 13th in the CAA with four assists on the year. McKinney assisted on the game-winner against her former team VCU. McGaughey is second in the CAA in assist with three in league games.
- Friedman was named the CAA Player of the Week for the second time on Sept. 18 behind two goals, including the game-winner, at Towson. She also earned player of the week honors after scoring both Tribe goals in a 2-1 upset of then-No. 12 Wake Forest on Sept. 1. They were first two-goal games of Friedman's career.
- The Tribe's 2-1 win over then-No. 12-ranked Wake Forest was the Tribe's 12th under head coach
Tess Ellis against Top-20 opponents, including the fourth over the ACC. Last season, W&M topped three top-20 opponents, including No. 6-ranked Liberty. The last time W&M won two matches against ACC competition in the same season was 2001.
