WILLIAMSBURG, Va.—The William & Mary women's golf team hits the road for the first time in two weeks to compete in the Edisto Island Invitational hosted by College of Charleston on Monday and Tuesday.
The 15-team field will play 36-holes on Monday and 18 Tuesday.
TRIBE NOTES
Last Time Out
The Tribe finished tied for sixth at the Navy Fall Invitational on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club. W&M posted scores of 313 and 316 in the 36-hole event totaling 53-over.
Simone Senk led the Tribe, finishing T-14 at 9-over-par.
Mary Grace Dunigan was not far behind at T-19, firing 80 after an opening round 75. The Green and Gold sat in sixth out of the 15 teams after the opening round and held that position over the final 18 holes.
Off and Running
Dunigan has gotten off to a solid start in her college career, posting top-25 finishes in her first three events. The freshman led off the year with a T-14 finish at the William & Mary Fall Invitational at Kingsmill. She backed that up with a T-22 finish at Elon before her T-19 at Navy's event. Dunigan has posted four scores of 73 or better in her first eight rounds.
Back in The Palmetto State
The Tribe return to Edisto, S.C. for the third consecutive year to play in the Cougars' home event. W&M posted a 10
thplace finish in 2021 and ninth place in 2022. The Tribe did finish strong, however, in last year's event with scores of 293 and 291 in the final two rounds.

The Field

Last year's top-five teams all return for the 2023 edition, led by defending champions Charleston Southern. The Tribe will play alongside the Buccaneers and Jacksonville in the first two rounds Monday.
The Course
The Plantation Course at Edisto Island remains the host of the event, playing to a par of 70. The course was built by David Lybrand in 1971. The course also features 30 acres of lakes.
