RICHMOND, Va. – After helping lead the William & Mary football team to a lopsided season-opening victory at Charlotte, sophomore quarterback
Darius Wilson was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week.
Wilson posted a career-high 304 yards of total offense in the Tribe's 41-24 road win, as he completed 12-of-18 passes for a career-best 237 yards with two touchdowns. Additionally, the Bronx, N.Y., native rushed for 67 yards on 10 carries and hauled in a 19-yard reception.
His effort helped W&M pile up 559 total yards and score its most points against a FBS opponent since 1998.
One of the nation's top freshman quarterbacks last season, Wilson was honored as the CAA Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. A dual threat, he broke W&M's true freshman record for passing yards (1,205) and total yards (1,591).
The Tribe will open its home slate at Zable Stadium versus Campbell on Saturday at 6 p.m. For a limited time,
Victory Sale tickets are available for just $20 at TribeAthletics.com.
