After suffering its first loss of the season in its conference opener against Elon, W&M will look to bounce back at Stony Brook on Saturday. In addition to averaging 35.8 points per game, W&M's offense has generated 253.0 rushing yards per contest – an impressive figure that ranks seventh nationally. Additionally, the Tribe's pass efficiency rating (168.1) ranks ninth in the country. Defensively, W&M ranks 11th nationally with 3.5 sacks per game, while its pass efficiency defense (114.0) ranks among the country's top 20.

Stony Brook is off to an 0-3 start this season, which includes an 0-2 mark in conference play with losses to Rhode Island (35-14) and Richmond (51-7). The Seawolves are averaging just 8.0 points per game, while allowing 35.5 points per contest. CAA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year running back Ty Son Lawton missed last week's game at Richmond  after suffering an injury in the Week 2 loss at UMass.

Saturday's game will mark just the fifth meeting between W&M and Stony Brook. The Tribe has won three of the four previous matchups but suffered a 21-18 loss in Williamsburg in the most recent meeting (2017). Three of the four contests have been decided by less than a touchdown, including a 27-21 overtime by W&M in the team's first meeting in 2014 at Stony Brook.
