WILLIAMSBURG, VA.- Eleanor Stothoff had a career day for the Tribe but it was not enough as UNCW downed William & Mary in five sets Saturday afternoon in Kaplan Arena. The sophomore transfer recorded a team season-high 17 kills and added in six blocks in the CAA opener.
Sarah Callender recorded her third double-double of the year with 11 kills and 12 assists to go with a service ace, while the reigning CAA Rookie of the Week
Ryann Love had a team-high eight blocks to go with five kills.

Anna Porter had 20 on the afternoon and added a pair of aces while
Amy Schwem and
Emma Minnick dished out 28 and 21 assists respectively.
Sabrina Malcolm slammed eight kills and racked up four blocks.
Schwem had seven digs in the first set, which was a defensive struggle. Each team hit under .220 and both recorded exactly 21 digs. Stothoff had three of the Tribe's eight kills in the 25-19 opening stanza win for UNCW.
The Tribe offense began to find a rhythm in the second set with 15 kills, five for Stothoff. Porter recorded six digs while Schwem dished seven assists. The teams traded the elad five times, but it was William & Mary victorious 25-22 to even the match.
The Green and Gold dominated the third, holding the lead for the entire set. Schwem dished out eight more assists and Stothoff slammed four kills without committing an error. Malcolm had a block to go with three kills and an ace as the Tribe took the lead behind a 25-21 victory.
UNCW would rally in a wild fourth frame that saw the teams tie 12 times and exchange the lead seven. Calendar had her best offensive set smashing four kills without error and Stothoff added four more, but UNCW was too much hitting .263 on the way to a 25-23 win.
In the ultimate set, the Seahawks had 10 kills to the Tribe's six and hit .625 to seal the match with a 15-11 win.
Taylor Burrell provided a kill in the frame and
Nicole Smith added a pair of point-enders.
The Tribe will have a chance at redemption tomorrow afternoon as the same two teams go at it at 2:00 p.m. in Kaplan Arena.
