WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After a two-year hiatus, William & Mary women's tennis will once again host the Tribe Invitational, Sept. 17-18, to kick off the fall season. The two-day event will feature student-athletes from six different programs and will be played in conjunction with the
ITA Women's Tennis Hall of Fame weekend.
The McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center, located 705 S Henry Street in Williamsburg, will be the venue this weekend. Joining the host Tribe at the event are East Carolina, Indiana, USC, Towson and Virginia Tech. Fans can watch the action via PlaySight by visiting

The Invitational includes
three doubles and five singles compass draws. Saturday kicks off with two rounds of doubles at 9 a.m., and singles will follow beginning at 11:15 a.m. Sunday will feature the final two rounds of singles, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and one round of doubles to close out the day at 3 p.m.
For the Tribe, the sophomore team of
Hedda Gurholt and
Ine Stange as well as the senior All-CAA tandem of
Raffaela Alhach and
Elisa Van Meeteren will compete in the All-In Doubles Draw. Both Green and Gold teams start at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
W&M will have three doubles teams in the Tribe Draw with freshmen
Emma Pell and
Yaelle Vaissaud as well as the duo of graduate student
Alexandra Vesikallio and sophomore
Kensie Cricchio starting play at 9 a.m. Sophomore
Emma Fernald and graduate student
Sofiya Kuzina play in the Tribe Doubles Draw at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Senior
Alisia Manolescu and junior
Julia Monroe round out the Tribe doubles teams, competing in the Griffin Draw starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
All-CAA performers from a season ago, Alhach and Gurholt will compete in the Green Singles Draw starting at 11:15 a.m.
Stange, the CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Performer last season, and Van Meeteren are set for the Gold Draw at the Invite.
A trio of Tribe players – Fernald, Vesikallio and Kuzina – take part in the Black Draw, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Another group of three W&M student-athletes – Pell, Vaissaud and Cricchio – will compete in the White Draw, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Manolescu will be the lone Tribe competitor in the Grey Draw, starting at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
