WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William & Mary women's tennis team received academic recognition from Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the organization announced on Monday. As a team, the Tribe earned the ITA All-Academic Team honor for the ninth-straight season, while six players – Raffaela Alhach, Lisa Fukutoku, Mila Saric, Shruti Rajaji Srinivasan, Ine Stange and Elisa Van Meeteren - garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades.
 
W&M received the team award for the 13th time overall and 12th in the last 14 years. It marks the third-straight year in which at least six Tribe student-athletes were named Scholar-Athletes. In total, 243 Division I program were recognized, including six from the Colonial Athletic Association.
 
Individually, it was the fourth award for Saric, while Srinivasan and Van Meeteren garnered the distinction of the third time. Fukutoku received their third ITA Scholar-Athlete awards, and both Alhach and Stange were first-time winners.
 
During each of head coach Jessica Giuggioli's seven seasons as a head coach, each of her teams earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors with this being her first at W&M. She has coached 30 ITA Scholar-Athlete honoree over the last seven years.

Since 2002, W&M has generated a total of 67 ITA Scholar-Athletes. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner; have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year; and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year). All-Academic teams boast a team GPA of 3.20 or higher.
