WEST POINT, N.Y. – The William & Mary men's gymnastics team posted its second-best performance of the season en route to placing third at a tri-meet hosted by Army on Saturday afternoon.
No. 4 Michigan claimed the team title with a 412.85, while No. 10 Army (384.1) and No. 13 W&M (377.2) finished second and third, respectively.
In addition to recording its second-best score of the 2022 campaign, W&M posted season highs on floor (64.95) and rings (63.6)
Event Highlights
Floor, 64.95 –
Sam Lee placed seventh on floor with a career-high 13.35 to help W&M earn its best team score of the season in the event.
Aidan Cuy also garnered a top-10 finish and placed ninth with a career-best 13.2.
Pommel Horse, 56.85 –
Christian Marsh led the Tribe on pommel horse and placed seventh with a 12.8.
Rings, 63.6 –
Zachary Patrick's career-high 13.0 led the Tribe on rings and placed eighth, as the impressive totaled helped W&M earn its best team score in the event this season.
Vault, 67.8 –
Sam Lee tallied the Tribe's top mark on vault and tied for fifth with a 14.0, while Cuy (13.7) and Patrick (13.65) also posted top-10 finishes.
Parallel Bars, 63.7 – Cuy (13.55) and Lee (13.2, season high) registered W&M's top two scores on parallel bars.
High Bar, 60.3 – Cuy narrowly missed a top-three finish on high bar and placed fourth with a career-high 13.0.
Cuy was W&M's lone all-arounder and earned a 77.05.
