COLUMBUS, OHIO – The William & Mary men's gymnastics team posted its second-best score of the season en route to a third-place finish at a tri-meet hosted by No. 5 Ohio State on Saturday afternoon.
The Buckeyes claimed the team title with a 393.95 and were followed by No. 10 Army (374.85) and No. 12 W&M (364.55).
Event Highlights
Floor, 61.5 –
Will Harrington and
Christian Gulotta led the Tribe on floor with a 12.65 and 12.6, respectively.
Pommel Horse, 56.9 – Gulotta also came up big on pommel horse and earned the team's top score with a 12.3, while
Christian Marsh earned an 11.75.
Rings, 61.05 – Marsh nearly equaled his best score of the season on rings and recorded a 13.1, while
Zachary Patrick matched his career high (12.7).
Vault, 66.05 –
Sam Lee posted W&M's best performance on vault with a 13.7, while
Aidan Cuy earned a 13.45.
Parallel Bars, 60.45 – Lee also registered the Tribe's top score on parallel bars, nearly equaling his season best with a 12.8, while Cuy recorded a season-high 12.55.
High Bar, 58.6 – Lee placed just outside the top three on high bar and tied for fourth with a season-high 12.5.
All-Around – Cuy was one of two gymnasts who competed as an all-arounder and placed second with a 72.1
Next Up
W&M will return to action when it hosts Springfield at Kaplan Arena next Friday at 7 p.m. The meet will be a double dual with the women's team, as it will host West Chester.
