WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis notched its third-straight sweep of in-state competition, blanking George Mason, 7-0, on Sunday morning at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center. The Tribe (3-1) captured the doubles point for the fourth-straight match and won all six singles positions in straight sets.
 
For the second time in as many days, the Green and Gold's top tandem of senior Mila Saric and freshman Hedda Gurholt did not drop a game in rolling to a win over Paige La and Hannah Yang. Saric and Gurholt are a perfect 4-0 on the year.
 
At No. 3, freshmen Ine Stange and Emma Fernald clinched the point with a 6-3 win over Grace Hashiguchi and Jackie Nannery.
 
At the top two singles posts, Saric and Gurholt dropped just a game in each in dominating victories to extend the Tribe lead to 3-0. Both players posted their 13th singles wins of the year, while Saric ran her win streak to six and Gurholt extended hers to eight.
 
Junior Elisa Van Meeteren clinched the Tribe victory with a win at No. 3. After an unblemished first set, she upended Yang 6-4 in the second to improve to 3-1 in dual-match play.
 
Alhach finished just after with a straight-sets win at No. 4, topping Ashley Fitz-Patrick, 6-2, 6-2. It marked her third-straight win and her 10th overall on the year.
 
Stange and Fernald put the finishing touches on the Tribe sweep winning in straight sets at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Stange improved to 6-2 on the year, while Fernald notched her ninth triumph.
 
Up Next: The Tribe returns to action on Friday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m. when it welcomes Big Ten foe Maryland to the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
