Off to its best start since 2009, W&M enters Saturday's game with a 7-1 record overall and a 4-1 mark in conference play. Having already matched the program's best start on the road (4-0), the Tribe will look to improve to 5-0 away from Williamsburg for the first time in school history. W&M boasts one of the nation's most productive offenses and is averaging 34.0 points per game and 444.2 total yards per contest. The Tribe's offensive line has powered the attack, as W&M ranks fourth nationally in rushing (261.3) and third in fewest sacks allowed per game (0.62). Defensively, W&M has been excellent getting stops on third down and ranks seventh nationally in conversion percentage defense (29.9). Additionally, its 3.0 sacks per game is 13th in the country.

After opening the season with three straight wins, Hampton has lost four of its last five contests and currently owns a 4-4 overall record and a 1-4 mark in conference play. The Pirates rank 11th in the CAA in total offense (317.3) and eighth in total defense (390.4).

Saturday's game between W&M and Hampton will mark the eighth meeting between the two programs, as the Tribe has won all seven of previous matchups. The Tribe has won those contests by an average margin of 19.1. W&M won the last meeting, 24-14, at Hampton in 2016.
