Diba Nwegbo and
Alfredo Bozalongo scored on Sunday afternoon as the Tribe pushed its unbeaten streak to seven with a 2-2 draw at Charleston.
The Tribe (3-2-5, 2-1-2 CAA) opened the scoring midway through the first half on Nwegbo's third goal of the season. Off a corner kick, senior
Alexander Levengood played the ball short along the 18-yard box to classmate
Nathan Messer. Nwegbo chested down Messer cross and then volleyed it home from 10 yards out in the 22nd minute.
The Green and Gold doubled its lead just under three minutes into the second half. W&M was awarded a free kick straight on from 23 yards out. Bozalongo buried a beautiful shot over the Charleston wall into the upper right corner of the goal to extended the lead to 2-0. It was Bozalongo's second free kick goal of the season.
Charleston (3-3-3, 2-1-2) answered less than two minutes later to pull one back as Chris Elliott scored inside the right post from 12 yards out.
The Cougars scored the equalizer off a corner kick in the 72nd minute. Leonardo D'Ambrosio served the ball to the near-side of the six-yard box where Elliott flipped a header to the far side of to pull the home team even.
W&M controlled play throughout, putting a ton of pressure on the Cougar goal, but could not find the winner. In total, the Tribe outshot Charleston, 22-3, including a 15-2 cushion in the second half. W&M put nine of those chances on goal and generated nine corner kicks compared to two for CofC.
