Men's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at CAA Leader Elon

ELON, N.C. – William & Mary men's soccer went on the road and played Colonial Athletic Association leader Elon to a scoreless draw on Saturday night. The draw pushed the Tribe's unbeaten streak to eight matches.

The Tribe (3-2-6, 2-1-3 CAA) set a program record for draws in a season with its sixth. W&M owns scoreless ties with the top two teams in the league standings adding a draw with Hofstra to Saturday's stalemate.

Graduate student goalkeeper Danilo Nikcevic came up with the biggest play for the Tribe defensively on the night. In the 55th minute, the Phoenix played a long diagonal ball, setting Ben Rosenblatt free in the ride side of the penalty area. The Tribe goalkeeper came off the line and blocked Rosenblatt's shot to preserve the shutout.

Defensively, Saturday marked the Tribe's fifth shutout in the last six matches.

Elon (7-3-2, 4-1-1 CAA) finished the match, outshooting the Tribe, 7-4, and had three corners compared to W&M's two. Senior Diba Nwegbo topped the Tribe with two shots.
