Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls at Loyola Maryland

BALTIMORE, Md. – William & Mary men's soccer fell on the road at Patriot League favorite Loyola Maryland, 3-0, on Wednesday night.

Loyola (3-3-2) scored the lone goal of the first half in the 23rd minute off a deflected ball. The Greyhounds' Justin Ingram crossed a ball to the top of the six-yard box, and Will Stack came off his line to try and punch it away. Unfortunately, the clearance attempt deflected off a rushing Jordan Wiley and into the right side of the goal to give the home team the 1-0 lead.

The Greyhounds doubled their lead just over a minute into the second half. Ingram again provided the service and this time, Wiley got a touch on it to knock it down just outside the right side of the six. Kelan Swales jumped on it and lifted a shot over Stack into the upper left side of the goal.

W&M (2-4) had a couple of quality chances to pull one back in the 49th and 57th minutes. The first opportunity came when junior Diba Nwegbo cut back a nice pass in the penalty area to Alexander Levengood, but his shot went high from eight yards out.

It was against Levengood and Nwegbo combining in the 57th minute, but this time the former set up the latter. Levengood laid off a long pass up the right side to Nwegbo at the top of the box, but Loyola goalkeeper Chase Vosvick made a diving save to his right on Nwegbo's low-lining shot.

Swales tacked on his second goal of the night in the 61st minute. Loc San sent a low bouncing pass to the top of the six where Swales roofed his shot to push the lead to 3-0.

Loyola outshot the Tribe, 13-4, on the night and had six corner kicks compared to two for the Green and Gold. Will Stack tallied three saves in goal for the Tribe, while Vosvick recorded the shutout behind one saves.
