Box Score WILLIAMSBURG,VA.- William & Mary's offense exploded hitting a scorching .310 as a team in a dominant 3-0 win over Hampton Friday in Kaplan Arena. With the win, the Tribe secured a winning non-conference record for the first time since 2012.

Maddie Meyers led the way with a career-high 16 kill night that saw the sophomore put away balls at a .344 clip.
Lauren Merrill was stellar hitting .600 with 12 kills and
Julia Brown continued her incredible season hitting .333 adding 10 kills of her own.Â

Anna Porter leading holding down a solid back line that held Hampton to below a .200 hitting percentage. Porter had 18 digs in the outing and freshman
Amy Schwem added 10 of her own to go with a season-high 37 assists.Â

It was Brown that dominated the opening frame with five kills on a .455 percentage as the Tribe took the first set 25-19. Schwem dished out 12 assists and Porter had eight digs in as the Tribe hit .325 in the first set win.Â

In the second, Hampton opened up an 18-9 lead over the Tribe but a kill by
Kaitlyn Ferguson turned everything around. Meyers took over knocking down seven of her 16 kills in the comeback as the Tribe would rally to tie the score at 23-23. The Pirates took a one point advantage but back to back kills from Meyers and a set ending kill from Ferguson gave the home team a 26-24 win.Â

The Tribe never trailed in the first jumping out to a 2-0 lead and never looking back. Merrill put away five kills on six attempts with zero errors for a blistering .833 percentage in the final stanza.
Bella Easton recorded her first career ace in the 25-19 win for the Green and Gold.Â
UP NEXT: Next weekend the team will begin the CAA portion of the schedule welcoming Northeastern into Kaplan Arena. The Tribe and Huskies will play Saturday and Sunday with both matches beginning at 2:00 p.m.
