ELON, N.C. – William & Mary women's tennis suffered a tough 4-3 setback at Elon on Saturday afternoon.
 
Junior Mila Saric and senior Vitoria Okuyama both picked up singles and doubles wins, but the Phoenix captured the doubles point and claimed two of the three singles matches that went three sets to secure the team victory.
 
How It Happened
- Elon (13-4, 3-1 CAA) took the early 1-0 lead, winning the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
- Saric and Okuyama continued their strong play at the top doubles spot. The Tribe duo won their seventh in a row, topping Elon's Sibel Tanik and Olivia Archer, 6-3. Saric and Okuyama are now 6-0 at the No. 1 position.
- Saric won her third singles match in a row to pull the Tribe (3-7, 1-2 CAA) even at one. The Tribe junior was dominant at the top spot, dropping just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Victoria Saldh. Saric improve to 6-2 at the top spot.
- After an Elon win at No. 3, Okuyama answered for the Tribe with a straight-sets win at No. 4. She topped Olivia Archer, 6-1, 7-5, for her fourth win of the season. Okuyama improved to 2-1 on line four.
- The balance of the match came down to a trio of three-set tilts at No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6.
- Elon rallied for three-set wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles to secure the team victory.
- Junior Lisa Fukutoku rounded out the Tribe singles wins with a three-set triumph at No. 6. She downed Ali O'Dea, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, for her second-straight win. Fukutoku evened her season record at 4-4.
