WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary baseball graduate student
Matthew Trehub was named the Tribe Leader of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday. The Tribe Leader of the Week recognizes exceptional William & Mary student-athletes for their contributions as leaders in the classroom and the community. Trehub was selected by his peers on the W&M Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
The Tribe's starting catcher throughout his career, Trehub has appeared in 160 career games with 136 starts. He owns 107 career hits with five home runs and 61 RBI. Trehub was an All-CAA performer as a junior in 2019.
Academically, Trehub earned his undergraduate degree from William & Mary last May in psychology. He will receive his master's from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business in business analytics in May. He has been named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll during each of his years at William & Mary.
On campus, Trehub was a founding member of Table Talk William & Mary. The goal organization is to increase awareness of campus-wide conversations of contemporary issues between students each semester through social media and direct marketing.
Throughout his time at William & Mary, Trehub has been active in the community as a volunteer at The Arc of Greater Williamsburg, facilitating activities for adults with developmental disabilities pertaining to furthering motor skills.
