WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Volleyball junior
Anna Porter was named William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery for 2021-22 on Tuesday.
Porter had a fantastic weekend defensively as the libero totaled 51 digs over nine sets in a pair of matchups against UNCW. The 29 digs by Porter on Sunday marked a career-high for the junior and helped the Tribe pull out a 3-2 win over the Seahawks.
On the season, Porter leads the Tribe with 256 digs and ranks fifth in the CAA with 3.76 digs per set. Through just two full seasons, the Atlanta native has accumulated 723 total digs ranking her seventh in William & Mary history under the current scoring format.
With 3.63 digs per set, Porter's career average is third best in the Tribe record books. The libero has also accumulated over 100 career assists and is 11
th in Tribe history with 46 service aces.
Majoring in Business, Porter has a 3.80 GPA and has been honored with the Provost Award and named to the CAA Commissioner's List.
