Dear Friend of William & Mary Athletics,
Each year as we enter the holiday season, my family and I remind ourselves to pause for a moment and remember all of the wonderful things for which we are grateful. While we have been part of the W&M family for only a few months, we are so thankful for the love and support we see every day for Tribe Athletics.
W&M Athletics is fortunate to have so many who cherish the Green & Gold and we can never thank you enough. The reasons people give to Athletics usually center around a common theme -- respect and admiration for our student-athletes. One such project that is being championed by every corner of our department is the
W&M Athletics Complex.
Recently, three new gifts to the Athletics Complex totaling more than $1.1 million were made by
All In Campaign Chair Sue Hanna Gerdelman '76, P '07, P '13, Robey "Rob" Estes Jr. '74, P '06 and Jean Berger Estes '75, P '06 and Scott Custer '79 and Betsy Custer. Other gifts, including those from James R. "Jim" Kaplan '57 and Jane Thompson Kaplan '56, for whom Kaplan Arena is named, have been essential to build momentum for the complex. To date, more than $39 million has been secured toward the $67-million project.
Here's more about why these individuals have chosen to support the game-changing project that will help us reach new levels of athletics achievement.
You, as members of the W&M Athletics family, know the challenges we've experienced in the past year, notably around our finances. To date your wonderful generosity through the
All In campaign and in many other ways, has been vital to strengthening our programs. On
Giving Tuesday, I hope you will consider yet another show of support to ensure our student-athletes have what they need to compete at the highest levels. Let's match the commitment they have made to W&M!
Your generosity is critical as we continue on the path to financial stability and to providing a world-class experience for our student-athletes. Please consider supporting the Tribe on Giving Tuesday to help us reach our goals, as well as make so many dreams come true for our student-athletes.
Thank you and Go Tribe!
